PlayJam, Philips enhance Smart TV with uWand

PlayJam, the TV games platform, has announced a collaboration with Philips uWand, a pointing and 3D gesture control technology, to enhance casual gaming on Smart TV.
Developed by Philips, uWand is the next generation remote control technology. When embedded in remote controls, it gives users fluid and accurate direct pointing and 3D gesture control on multiple electronic devices with the same intuitiveness as a multi-touch screen.
PlayJam will integrate support for uWand technology within its SDK to support its games service operating across all major smart TV platforms worldwide. Both companies will work together to maximise the potential of direct pointing and gesture-based gaming on Smart TV devices, providing content developers with the opportunity to create immersive and interactive content on the next generation of TV’s.
