ESPN UK acquires tennis, golf, darts content

ESPN in the UK is taking its live sports schedule beyond its core of football and rugby by securing live golf, darts and tennis programming – expanding its sports offering for the first time significantly into live daytime, weekday sports.
In golf, ESPN has secured an agreement to televise its first live golf programming in the UK. It will air eight days of live coverage from the Australian PGA Championship and the Emirates Australian Open later this month.
In darts, ESPN will provide live coverage of the 2012 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships in January.
In tennis, ESPN will broadcast the BNP Paribas Showdown next March which feaatures Maria Sharapova taking on Caroline Wozniacki and Roger Federer head-to-head with Andy Roddick.
