Prisa TV and Cisco in STB deal
June 27, 2011
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Prisa TV, owner of DTH platform Digital Plus, has signed an agreement with Cisco whereby the technology company will provide the platform Digital Plus with new and state-of-the-art set-top-boxes.
The deal forms part of a far-reaching reorganisation plan of Prisa that will also launch a multimedia platform, developed by IBM and Autonomy, for content and advertising, with Nagravision providing protection in Prisa’s pay-TV operations.
For Cisco, this is the second big agreement in Spain following the recent deal with Spain’s largest cable company ONO to bring TiVo to Spain.
