May 3, 2011
BBC Worldwide has appointed Jacek Koskowski as General Manager CEE, BBC Worldwide Channels. The appointment of a General Manager for the CEE is a new role for the EMEA business and is the first phase in BBC Worldwide Channels’ strategy to establish a local office in the market, underlining a long-term commitment to Poland as a priority territory for its business.
Jacek joins the business with considerable experience in the Polish media industry. Having worked for the early part of his career as a presenter and news editor for Radio Zet and NTW, Jacek assumed the role of Sales and Marketing Manager for Zone Vision (now Chello) looking after brands such as Discovery, MTV and Eurosport. He later co-founded Program Sp. z.o.o, an agency which handles the distribution and management of channels for international TV broadcasters in the market.
Prior to joining BBC Worldwide, Jacek was the Director of Thematic Channels for TV Polsat SA, responsible for the distribution and marketing of Polsat’s channel portfolio and the introduction of its new thematic channels into Poland.
Based in Warsaw, Jacek Koskowski will be responsible for the daily management of BBC Worldwide’s channels operations and will spearhead the distribution of the six-strong portfolio of BBC channels in the market.
