Spotify on Virgin Media?
December 7, 2010
As news of Sky Songs being abandoned breaks, it appears Spotify is considering a new service via Virgin’s new TiVo STB. It could be the first ‘add-on’ service for the UK version; in the US TiVo carries subscription options for several third parties including Live365, MusicChoice and Netflix.
Spotify has been trying to find other service carriers – its only current presence is with 3 the MNO. However, Virgin’s desire to have the service exclusively may be a stumbling block. Virgin, after several false starts, is keen to offer a comprehensive music service.
