CSA seeks on demand DTT
December 2, 2010
France’s Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) has issued a request for expressions of interest in the broadcast of audiovisual media services on demand (SMAD) on digital terrestrial television, with the aim of the platform providing the public with access to a richer and more diverse audiovisual offer.
The CSA will authorise either one or several SMAD, which may be available free-to-air or conditional access, free or paid. The call is open to both catch-up TV services and video on demand. It will also determine the number of services selected at time of selection, given the filings, in particular according to the amount of bandwidth each require.
Applications must be submitted by February 14 2011.
