October 19, 2010
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Vodafone Spain has launched a free mobile TV app for Android handsets that allows users to access to the 10-channel Vodafone TV service it offers over the Internet, including TV commercial channels La Sexta, Antena 3 and Telecinco.
Called Vodafone Aplicacion TV, the app also gives access to pay DTT channel Gol TV, which airs 112 Champions League matches, three Spanish first division matches per game day, the Copa del Rey tournament, among others.
Customers will have to pay E1.50 per week to view Vodafone TV on their mobiles and E0.99 for Gol TV although the first week will be free of charge. The app, which also allows customers to browse through the EPG and select favourite channels for a faster access, is available at Android Market as well as Vodafone’s Tienda 360 app store for Symbian and for the Samsung H1 and M1 handsets, co-branded as Vodafone 360 phones.
