Cohen BBC1 controller

Danny Cohen has been appointed as controller of BBC1.
Cohen has been in charge of BBC3 since May 2007, and will now be in charge of the country’s most popular TV channel with a budget of £1.13 billion (E1.288bn). He takes over the role immediately and also joins the BBC Vision board.
Prior to joining BBC3, Cohen was head of E4 and head of Channel 4 factual entertainment and was responsible for commissioning programming including Skins, the Inbetweeners and Fonejacker
