Qtel: Free HD channels

Qatari telco Qtel is running a pilot project that will make HD channels available for free on its IPTV service ‘Mozaic TV+’. The HD channels will be delivered over the fibre-based network which Qtel has installed in the West Bay area, and the first to be offered will be Al Kass Sports HD, Luxe HD, Dream HD, and Dubai Sports HD – with more to follow.
The new HD channels will be available for free until the end of 2010, when the HD Upgrade price shall be announced. The HD channels will also be available to customers in Umm Saeed and West Bay Lagoon who are part of Qtel’s Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout.
