iApps from Netflix
August 27, 2010
Netflix announces the release of a free Netflix application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows streaming of movies over Wi-Fi or a 3G cellphone connection. Netflix is available on a number of devices and screens, including gaming consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox, the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii — all of which hook up to a television for a lean-back streaming experience. The service is also available on the Apple iPad and through computers and laptops.
Netflix says it is simple and intuitive to use, and requires a membership that includes the option to stream content online. Along with the ability to watch movies or television shows through the app, Netflix also allows users to manage their movie queue on the screen.
