Sky commissions ‘Flying Monsters 3D’
April 7, 2010
In preparation for the launch of Sky 3D, Europe’s first 3D TV channel, Sky has unveiled its first original 3D commission: a pioneering feature documentary about the prehistoric world – ‘Flying Monsters 3D’ – written and presented by Sir David Attenborough, one of the UK’s best-known broadcasters.
The film will be released theatrically in both large format and IMAX cinemas around the world, but will premiere on Sky 3D later this year. The film will use cutting-edge 3D TV technology to bring the prehistoric world alive.
Sky 3D, Europe’s first 3D TV channel, will launch this April, initially to Sky’s commercial customers before becoming available to more than 2 million Sky+HD homes later in 2010.
