Mobile TV trials in Sydney

THE first trial of broadcast mobile TV has been launched in Sydney, Australia, Nine channels including Seven Digital, ABC1, Fox Sports News and MTV are being broadcast as part of the six-week DVB-H (digital video broadcasting-handheld) trial, involving 200 Optus customers using Nokia and LG handsets.
The Australian Industry Group’s digital suppliers’ forum is co-ordinating the trial to demonstrate developments before the Government decides how to allocate the spectrum for two planned datacasting channels for mobile TV.
