U-verse up 232,000

AT&T has enjoyed strong growth in its U-verse TV subscribers, with a net subscriber gain of 232,000 to reach 781,000 in service; on track to exceed 1million subscribers in service by the end of 2008.
The news came as part of AT&T results which showed that elsewhere showed heavy spending on their i-Phone launch. The company said it earned $3.23 billion, in the July-September period, up from $3.06 billion in the same period a year ago. Revenue rose 4% to $31.3 billion from $30.1 billion a year earlier.
