Sky Italia on Pace
July 17, 2008
Sky Italia has chosen Pace as its launch partner for high definition personal video recorders (HD PVRs) for the launch of its HD PVR service. The Pace HD PVR (model TDS850NS) comes with dual DVB-S2 tuners, H.264 compression and a 250GB hard drive to store up to 60 hours of HD programming. It comes integrated with OpenTV middleware and NDS conditional access. Pace has also been chosen to supply an MPEG-4 capable standard definition (SD) PVR, the TDS480NS. This twin-tuner PVR uses MPEG-4 compression, which will enable Sky Italia to make better use of future bandwidth. It comes with a 160GB hard drive, capable of storing up to 60 hours of SD programming
