FCC pressures retailers

The Federal Communications Commission continues to target retailers in the efforts to inform consumers about switchover. In testimony before the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said the agency has inspected 1,829 retail stores and websites and has issued 316 citations notifying retailers of violations for failing to comply with DTV labelling requirements. The fines total almost $4 million, he said.
