French PSB France Télévisions is preparing its own OTT SVoD service, with a launch date set for March 31st 2017.
Talking to Le Monde, France Télévisions Commercial Development Director Laetitia Recayte said the platform would differ from existing services such as Netflix and Canalplay by offering series, documentaries, youth programmes and movies in keeping with its public service remit.
This new service, which will complement France Télévisions’ catch-up and pay-VoD existing platforms, and will replace the investments poured into catch-up app francetv zoom and smart TV dedicated digital services. All these initiatives will cease, the group announced recently.
