Spain: Orange grows revenues and subs

Orange Spain has reversed 27-months of declining revenues and has significantly increased its subscribers. In the first quarter of the year, the company managed gained 1.8 per cent in revenues to €1.189 billion. By comparison, in the last quarter of 2015, Orange had a 0.7 per cent decline in revenues and a fall of 1.7 per cent in the third quarter of 2015. However, the EBITDA reached €2.569 billion, down 1.6 per cent than the same period last year.
Orange Spain significantly increased the number of pay-TV subscribers in the first quarter, almost tripling to 365,000 subs. Converged packages accounted for 81.7 per cent of its fixed broadband customers, up 3.7 per cent. As of March 31st, Orange had 15.39 million mobile clients, up 20.5 per cent, with 5.8 million 4G customers and a 4G network with 87 per cent coverage of the Spanish population.
As for fixed broadband, the company had 3.8 million customers, up 5.6 per cent with 1.02 million fibre subs. Orange Spain has 7.4 million passed FTTH homes with plans to reach 14 million households by the end of 2020.
