ATEME, Dell, Intel simplify 4K transcoding
February 23, 2016
ATEME has announced a new high video quality and high density 4K and HD transcoding solution in partnership with Dell and Intel. This solution brings together ATEME’s video compression skills, Intel’s Visual Compute Accelerator (VCA) PCIe card, and Dell’s optimised hardware, delivering 200 HD channels with premium video quality in a 1RU server, with 5W per channel. The joint solution redefines the broadcast industry density standard, a complete live and file video headend in a box, offering significant OPEX and CAPEX savings. This new solution is currently showcased at Mobile World Congress on Dell’s booth, Hall 3 Stand 3K30.
“Joining forces with the industry leaders enables ATEME to maintain our technology leadership in terms of video quality and density,” said Michel Artières, CEO at ATEME. “In addition to headend in a box and faster than real time on-premises cloud file processing, we see our customers using the Intel-Dell-ATEME solution for new applications, such as Just-In-Time-Transcoding (JITT) and edge transcoding.”
