December 22, 2015
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Following the recent awarding of a DTT channel, TV group Atresmedia has launched Atreseries, a new DTT channel dedicated to TV series. The channel is Atresmedia’s sixth network on Spanish DTT and is the first of the recently-awarded licences to go live.
Atreseries is the Spanish-market version of Atres Series, which operates across Latin America and the US Hispanic pay-TV markets. Its programming is based onAtresmedia’s in-house productions, mostly series, and some films in which the media company has collaborated.
The channel aims to become a ‘reference network’ for Spanish fiction, according to the company which also operates Neox and Nova focused on fiction.
In the forthcoming months, some other DTT channels will be launching like Secuoya’s D10+, Real Madrid TV channel and Kiss Media’s Quiero TV, a new Mediaset TV channel and 13TV.
