€10m grant for DTT simulcasting

Spain has approved a €10 million state subsidy to finance the simulcasting of public (National and Regional) DTT transmissions during the digital migration process, from October to December.
The financial aid will be given to the national pubcaster RTVE and the public Regional TV companies in Aragon, Canaries, Catalonia, Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia and Extremadura.
The simulcast DTT transmissions will last between 3 and 6 months starting from October. The Administration hopes to approve the new DTT map by mid September with a detailed plan for the digital migration that should be completed before January 1st 2015.
