Sochi 2014 sees increased TViN app installation
March 13, 2014
Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia’s biggest IPTV, ISP and mobile provider, saw a spike in usage of its TViN OTT platform during the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Almost half of Telekom Slovenije’s ‘TopTrio’ triple-play subscribers used the service on their computer, tablet or mobile phone.
Telekom Slovenije’s TViN OTT platform, launched two years ago, reached new heights in usage during the Sochi games. Between February 7th and February 23rd there was a sharp increase in TViN app installations on users’ tablets and smartphones, and the service also saw a sharp increase in usage among those who had previously downloaded the apps.
“Most of the competitions during the Winter Olympics were on during the day, when a lot of viewers were at work. TViN enabled them to follow the most interesting matches and competitions on their computers, tablets and smartphones. The increase in usage shows that a lot of our subscribers used the opportunity to follow the Olympics through TViN,” said Mitja Lazar, Head of Internet and Multimedia Services at Telekom Slovenije.
