Nagravision and Solaris S-Band solution
February 19, 2009
Nagravision and Solaris Mobile, a joint venture of Eutelsat and SES Astra, are joining forces in the development of a harmonised ecosystem to optimise the delivery of mobile TV and broadband services.
Solaris Mobile's first range of services are aimed primarily at broadcasters, telco operators, the automotive industry, and data & communication providers and will soon be operating in the new dedicated spectrum S-band which is located near the UMTS frequencies exclusively reserved for mobile satellite services. With this S-band payload using the DVB-SH (Satellite services to Handhelds) hybrid satellite/terrestrial standard, Solaris Mobile can provide a network offering seamless coverage across Europe.
