A+E Networks appoints Jones VP Programming

Entertainment broadcaster A+E Networks UK, a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, has appointed Heather Jones as the Vice President of Programming.
Jones, who will take up the post later this month, will be responsible for A+E Networks UK’s programming strategy across the company’s channels in the UK, Central Europe, Benelux, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Greece and Africa.
As VP of Programming, Jones will be charged with driving audience growth through original commissions and co-productions, A+E Networks’ US output and third-party acquisitions, as well as increasing the international expansion of A+E Networks UK’s portfolio of channels which include History, Crime & Investigation network, H2, Bio and Lifetime – which is scheduled to launch in the UK in the autumn.
Jones was previously Managing Director of independent production company North One Television, part of the All3Media group. She replaces previous incumbent Adam MacDonald who leaves the company to take up the role as Director of Sky 1.
