Level 3 brings Champions League to FOX
May 24, 2013
Level 3 Communications has confirmed it is providing video broadcast services to enable FOX Network to deliver the live feed of the UEFA Champions League final to viewers across the US.
This year, the final match features Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund, and will take place May 25th at Wembley Stadium. Level 3′s global fibre network is directly connected to Wembley Stadium, which allows Level 3 to deploy its Vyvx Solutions to provide an end-to-end video broadcast solution to FOX. Level 3 will take the feed from the game in London and deliver it to FOX Network, FOX Soccer Channel and FOX Deportes in Los Angeles for distribution to U.S. viewers.
“The popularity of European soccer has grown exponentially in the US, and FOX is truly pleased to work closely with Level 3 to provide the live feed of the UEFA Champions League final to viewers across the country,” said Keith Goldberg, vice president of Transmission Operations at FOX. “Level 3′s broadcast capabilities paired with its expansive global network enable us to securely and seamlessly deliver one of the most highly anticipated soccer events to millions of fans.”
