BT adds British Museum On Demand
November 27, 2012
BT has launched a brand new VoD channel on BT Vision dedicated exclusively to the British Museum, the UK’s leading visitor attraction. The on demand channel will be available to all BT TV customers at no extra charge regardless of which package they are on.
The channel will show films produced by the British Museum on a vast range of subjects – a mixture of documentaries in both long and short forms on topics including Journeys of Faith, Great Leaders, Stories of the World, Contemporary Artists and Shakespeare. There will also be a number of lectures and short films available linked to current exhibitions.
The new channel is a first for the Museum, it shares its video content through its own web site, a dedicated channel on You Tube and social media, but this is their first on demand TV channel. It is also the first time BT Vision has offered viewers this type of channel.
Marc Watson, CEO, BT Vision, said: “It is a privilege to be a partner of the British Museum and bring these programmes to BT TV viewers. Our customers can visit the museum without leaving their armchairs and see captivating stories of humanity, from civilisations which disappeared thousands of years ago to the world we live in today.”
