The SES-backed HD+ soft-encrypted broadcasting system over Germany is adding Discovery’s DMAX-HD channel on May 1st.  It will become the 14th commercial HD+ channel to transmit, as well as certain public broadcasters. SES says there are now 32 HDTV channels available to owners of HD+ receivers.

The launch of DMAX HD and SUPER RTL HD on HD+ on May 1st will give the development of our platform a further push. With the start of additional free-to-air HD channels on 1st May and the large pay-TV line-up in HD, the HD offer on Astra becomes very impressive and continues to be one of the most comprehensive and attractive HD line-ups in the market and even internationally.”
