Arianespace two launches light

September 16, 2025

The market was expecting Arianespace to launch six of its giant Ariane 62 rocket this year. That will not happen.

Arianespace CEO David Cavailloles told delegates at the Novaspace World Satellite Business Week in Paris that it has been a “perfect year” from a delivery point of view, and that two planned launches would happen later this year.

However, that would mean only four launches in total, and two fewer than originally promised.

Cavailloles declined to expand on when Arianespace follow-on rocket, the Ariane A64 variant, would happen this year. The next launch would be for a pair of European Space Agency Copernicus craft, using the Ariane 62 vehicle.

Cavailloles told delegates that work on the new A64 was going in the right direction.
