HBO has reported that its Original series, The Last Of Us, has seen a major influx of viewers, with global audience upon the arrival of Season 2 exceeding over 90 million since Season 1 ended.
Season 2 has tallied nearly 37 million global viewers per episode. In the US, the Season 2 finale – which aired on May 25th – saw 3.7 million cross-platform viewers. The audience will grow significantly due to low viewing levels over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The debut season of the series concluded with 32 million US cross-platform viewers at 90 days post-premiere.
The trailer for Season 2 of The Last of Us set a HBO viewing record earlier this year.
HBO has already confirmed a third season of the series.
The series is based on the celebrated video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation. In the UK, the series airs on Sky Atlantic.
