Viaplay Content Distribution will be the international distributor for the riveting financial drama series Golden Boys (4×44′), produced by FLX for TV4.

Set against the backdrop of a high-stakes financial scandal spanning St. Tropez, London, Geneva and Stockholm, Golden Boys is a gripping, character-driven series inspired by real events. It charts the meteoric rise and spectacular fall, of two ambitious cousins determined to break into the upper echelons of the financial world. Fronted by a cash-strapped British aristocrat, they execute a daring takeover of a Swedish investment company, a move that draws media attention and public scrutiny. As the story unravels, layers of deception, loyalty and ambition are laid bare, revealing the true cost of chasing power at any price.

Directed by Ivica Zubak (A Hustler’s Diary, Måste Gitt) and written by Erik Hultkvist (Blinded, The Dark Heart) alongside Per Gavatin (Swedish Dicks) and Tapio Leopold (Trouble), ‘Golden Boys’ features a talented cast including Adam Lundgren (The Arctic Convoy, The Restaurant), Erik Svedberg-Zelman (The Helicopter Heist, Dusseldorf, Skåne), and Viktor Björkberg (Baba Yoga, Wizard of Oz). Produced by the acclaimed FLX studio (Quicksand, The Unlikely Murderer, Love & Anarchy) for TV4, in co-production with Film i Väst, and produced by Anna Carlsten (Trouble, Together 99, The Dark Heart, The Square) with Julia Lennartson as Executive Producer.

Synopsis

White-collar criminal Joachim Posener, recently released from prison, has a dream: to give his five-year-old son everything. Determined to build an empire and earn respect – from society and his disapproving parents – he teams up with his flamboyant cousin, Thomas Jisander. Together, they party hard, dream bigger, and hatch bold, illegal business ventures. They call themselves the ‘Golden Boys’. To realise his ambitions, Posener orchestrates the largest fraud in Swedish history, with Jisander by his side. But when a journalist begins digging into their affairs, their glamorous world starts to crumble.
