With immediate effect, 270,000 cable households in Munich, Germany supplied by PŸUR have access to internet bandwidths of up to 1,000 Mbps.

Now that the technical work on the network has been successfully completed, internet connections with a bandwidth of up to 1,000 Mbit/s in download – i.e. one gigabit – can be booked.  The increase in speed is achieved by a new transfer protocol, which at the same time significantly increases the transmission capacity of the network. The additional performance reserve offers all customers an optimal surfing experience at any time of day or night.
 
For the Tele Columbus Group, the company behind the PŸUR brand, Munich is the second largest city network after Berlin to be upgraded as part of the gigabit expansion. The fastest connections with 400, 500 and 1,000 Mbit/s currently account for more than 30 per cent of all new orders at PŸUR; and the trend is rising.
 
PŸUR says the gigabit development of the city network in Munich is an important milestone for the company on the way to cover nationwide almost 2.3 million households with Gigabit internet.
