SES granted FCC licence for O3b

SES Space & Defense has requested – and been granted – a new FCC experimental test licence (a Special Temporary Authority) to “test and demonstrate a terminal for operations with the O3b constellation for prospective government customers,” says the application.
The two-unit tests will take place at Port St Lucie, Florida, beginning in on February 17th until August 6th.
The equipment will be supplied by Ultra Intelligence & Communications which has operational centres in Farnborough and Aberdeen in the UK as well as the US, Canada and Australia.
