The growth of IPTV and satellite TV has seen DTT significantly decline as the main TV distribution system, going from 60.3 per cent of households which were watching daily TV via terrestrial in 2016 to 41.1 per cent in 2020, according to a report from SES Astra Spain.

The report reveals a solid growth in IPTV, going from 21.5 per cent to 30.8 per cent in four years, with satellite also increasing its penetration from 10 per cent to 16.5 per cent reaching 2.8 million homes.

Cable has only experienced a slight growth, from 8.1 per cent to 8.7 per cent.

Additionally, 4K TV has increased considerably from 65 per cent to 96 per cent of households now being equipped with a 4K TV.
