Russia: Tricolor movie deal with NBCUniversal
October 20, 2020
Tricolor subscribers in Russia can now watch feature films from NBCUniversal and will be able to watch these movies on Tricolor’s own channels.
As part of this multi-year agreement, Tricolor has secured the Russian rights to broadcast the films on its channels, via satellite and also on their OTT Tricolor Cinema and TV app.
“By signing a multi-year agreement for theatrical titles from NBCUniversal, we have made our movie collection even more diverse and interesting for our clients. It is especially important that we have obtained the rights to show these hit films on our channels online, as this will contribute to the development of our own OTT platform,” commented Arsen Khomutov, Tricolor Content Director.
Some of the NBCUniversal movies that viewers will now be able to watch in HD include: films in Universal Pictures’ blockbuster Jurassic Park and The Mummy franchises, Fifty Shades of Grey, The Holiday and Lucy. Children will also be able to enjoy animated films such as Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and Penguins of Madagascar.
