Joyn, the streaming co-venture from ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery, has launched a premium option, branded Joyn Plus+, which is available to German viewers for a subscription fee of €6.99 a month.

Joyn’s free service launched earlier this year offering some 50 live OTT channels and a VoD library of catch-up content. The premium version of Joyn will offer 61 linear channels as well as HD versions of six pay-TV services (ProSiebenSat Fun, Sat.1 Emotions, Kabel Eins Classics, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and Eurosport 2).   ProSiebenSat.1 is also adding content from its shuttered Maxdome streaming service into Joyn Plus+.  The service will add a download-to-view option next year

Viewers who sign up to Joyn Plus+ before the end of the year will receive one month free and a discounted charge of €3.99 per month for the first three months beyond.
