November 29, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
LOVEStv, the joint FTA HbbTV platform sponsored by Spanish broadcasters Atresmedia, Mediaset and RTVE, has started streaming and aims to be integrated into over 2 million TV sets by year end.
The platform is available on TV sets equipped with HbbTV 1.5 technology, through the main manufacturers LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sony and Vestelde.
The platform is open to other operators and enables the viewer to watch content on demand from the last seven days; to restart from a programme from the beginning; to recommend content; and surf through an enhanced EPG.
The broadcasters are now promoting the platform on their TV channels and online. In a later phase, the platform aims to become an OTT service.
