Spain’s public consultation on DTT

Spanish regulator CNMC has launched a public consultation on the carriage of DTT signals in an attempt to introduce more competition in the market. Broadcasting company Cellnex, the former Abertis Telecom, controls 100 per cent of the DTT broadcast market.
The CNMC now aims to review the legal framework to introduce “a more flexible regulation” that enables agreements between Cellnex and other possible operators for the sake of competition in the market.
All involved players may submit their proposals during over the next month with conclusions to be sent to the EU and the Spanish government.
