India: Reliance Big TV pays DTH transmission fees

India’s smallest DTH operator, Reliance Big TV (RBTV) has paid its overdue transmission fees to the country’s satellite transponder operator, Antrix.
Antrix handles the commercial dealings of India’s State Research Operation (ISRO) which controls all transponder traffic coming into India.
RBTV has been cleared by India’s Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal of restrictions. RBTV is itself now under new ownership, and says that ‘normal’ services will be resumed to viewers very shortly.
RBTV is now owned by Pantel Technologies and Veecon TV & Media. RBTV had its transponder links cut earlier this month with reported debts to Antrix of some €3.5 million ($4.3m).
