Wind Hellas, already a major cellular operator in Greece, says it will enter the local pay-TV market in April.

Wind Hellas chairman/CEO Nasos Zarkalis, says that last year’s revenues grew 3.9 per cent, and operating profits rose 13.6 per cent to top €100 million, and forecast a similar improvement this year.

Wind says it is now ready to invest between €95 million – €100 million to fund network improvements and establish its pay-TV operation.

Wind, currently the Number 3 operator (after Cosmote and Vodafone), owns a 32.8 per cent stake in rival cellular operator Forthnet and is looking to expand in Greece possibly with a take-over bid for the Vodafone operation in Greece.
