Telenor remains under pressure

Telenor’s Canal Digital broadcasting division has posted further falls in revenue for its Q3/2017 period.
DTH subscribers fell numerically by 3 per cent to 843,000 (down from 851,000 in Q2, and from 865,000 in Q3/2016). However, DTH ARPU grew by 2 per cent to 405 Norwegian Kroner (€43) per month (static since Q2, but up from 399 NOK in Q3/2016.
Revenues for the division were also under pressure. Revenue fell q-o-q from 1.547 million in Q2 to 1.520 million in Q3 this year, and down from 1.546 million NOK in Q3/2016.
Revenues at its Satellite Broadcasting division were down slightly (from 227 million NOK in Q2 to 223 million NOK in Q3) and also down y-o-y from 242 million NOK in 2016. Telenor’s satellite broadcasting division saw a wholesale contract for transponder capacity which was converted into a financial lease in the second quarter of 2017.
