Talpa Holding has bought a 67% share in SBS broadcasting from Finnish publisher Sanoma. This gives Talpa full ownership of SBS stations SBS6, NET5, Veronica and SBS9 as well as a new Dutch multimedia company with investments in television, radio, print and online.
Talpa is the vehicle for John de Mol, founder of Holland’s Endermol which was behind a raft of global TV formats including Big Brother.
As part of the deal Talpa’s stake in the Veronic TV guide business will go to Sanoma. In addition to SBS the group includes Talpa Radio group, the Netherland’s largest with stations 538, Radio 10, Sky Radio and Radio Veronica.
