Time Warner has said it will be one of the first studios to run a VoD platform providing films at the same time as the theatrical release. It says it may launch as soon do so by next summer, charging $30-$50 per film in the US.

“We’re near agreement with our distributors on the right window and the right price point,” Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes as he revealed the VOD plans during the company’s third quarter earnings statement.

Time Warner also confirmed that its VOD service will offer films in 3D when available.
