Starlink tops 20m users

SpaceX’s Starlink broadband-by-satellite system has hit 20 million daily active customers. The most recent 2 million additions came over the course of just 81 days, an average of 24,500 new sign-ups per day.
Taking the system back to its October 27th 2020 launch this latest number translates into some 6,000 additions per day.
What is less clear is what Starlink’s customer churn is. Industry gossip suggests churn is negligible, but the upcoming IPO Prospectus will likely supply true addition statements (and quarterly net additions).
Starlink has also introduced a requirement for some international users of its technology to show their Passport pages and a “live self-portrait” as part of new requirements for their travel registration policy. The policy appears to apply to all customers using satellite internet service internationally.
“Travel registration is required for all Starlink use outside of the country or territory where you initially registered your account (your registered home country or territory),” the company wrote on its support page, adding: “Failure to complete registration for international travel will result in service being disabled when abroad.”
