MED.TV FAST channel on Rakuten TV

February 23, 2026

Malta-based Med Media Services has announced the launch of its FAST channel MED.TV on Rakuten TV. With this new distribution agreement, MED.TV is now available in 43 European territories, reaching a potential audience of more than 150 million households.

Launched in 2025, MED.TV showcases the Mediterranean through a premium mix of original and curated content spanning documentaries, travel and culinary series, feature films, classical concerts and opera, as well as coverage and highlights from business events and Mediterranean-focused current affairs programmes.  Notable titles include the travel series Into the Med; documentary series such as Mediterraneo and Signorie; culinary hits including Mediterranean Kitchen and Gold Cuisine; classical concerts and opera performances; and business-led formats such as Med Leaders.

“This partnership with Rakuten TV in Europe further supports our strategy to scale MED.TV through strategic linear and streaming platform partnerships, while continuing to invest in original programming and localized content tailored to regional audiences,” said Med Media Services COO Manolo Mantovani. “As a channel that launched just last year, expanding our distribution so quickly across Europe is a strong validation of our editorial vision and long-term strategy. Rakuten TV’s scale and reach allow us to introduce MED.TV to new audiences while strengthening our position as a distinctive Mediterranean-focused channel.”

“MED.TV brings together the varied yet distinctive Mediterranean cultures and lifestyles of the region through programming that is both aspirational and accessible to a wide European audience,” commented Marcos Milanez, Chief Content Officer, Rakuten TV. “Its Mediterranean focus complements our growing FAST portfolio and aligns well with viewer demand for diverse, high-quality content.”

MED.TV launched in 2025 on Eutelsat/Hotbird satellite and is available to 160 million homes across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
