iwot studios, Framestore launch AI production joint venture
February 11, 2026
iwot studios, a transmedia entertainment company creating content based on the epic sci-fi/fantasy universe The Wheel of Time, and the visual effects studio Framestore, have announced the formation of an AI Joint venture (JV).
The new company will build a platform for premium entertainment franchises that will enable studios to unify their production environments across film, television, video games, animation, advertising, immersive experiences, social platforms, and user-generated content. By unifying assets, standards, and governance into a single foundation, the platform will allow productions in all media formats to work in tandem, rather than as independent silos. As fans demand to engage with IP across multiple formats, studios will need to accelerate production across those formats, while maintaining authenticity.
“Fans shouldn’t have to wait to experience the worlds they love in the formats they want,” said Rick Selvage, CEO of iwot studios. “The Wheel of Time will be the first IP to benefit from the platform being developed by the JV, so The Wheel of Time can be everywhere our fans are —film, television, video games, immersive, social platforms, and beyond. We will be able to maintain canon control, creative consistency, and security, while meeting our fans wherever they are.”
“Our award-winning technologists are experts at creating tools and platforms to accelerate production processes.” said Mel Sullivan, CEO of Framestore “Framestore already delivers across all media formats and brings that experience to the JV. This is a fantastic addition to our fast-growing technology services business.”
“We are building inside live productions, with world-class teams, designed to operate across the real-world complexity of modern creative pipelines.” added Lincoln Wallen, CTO of Framestore “Our experience with using AI for asset management and generation, while maintaining the proper governance and security that premium IP requires puts us in a unique position to enable transmedia production.”
