DirecTV ups subscriber fees again

January 8, 2026

US satellite pay-TV operator DirecTV has announced price rises for some users across its bundled channels in the US. It last raised prices for all users just two months ago in November 2025.

The increases will apply to ‘legacy’ clients which were not covered by last November’s price rises. In other words, these ‘legacy’ customers will now pay what non-legacy viewers are paying.

As to the specifics, DirecTV’s Go Big plan, known for its extensive channel selection including sports and entertainment networks, will see a monthly increase of as much as $10.

Its Choice plan, a mid-tier option popular with families because of its balance of variety and affordability, faces a $9 monthly hit.

Other packages, such as its Entertainment and Ultimate plans, are also slated for price rises in the $9 to $10 range, depending on regional variations and what’s included in the bundled services.

The November 2025 price hikes climbed as much as $11 per month, while add-on services saw rises of $5.

DirecTV hints that this year will see more 4K broadcasts. The new prices kick in during February.
