Germany: World Cup 2026, Euro 2028 on MagentaTV

Deutsche Telekom has announced a sub-licensing deal with German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF that will bring all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as well as all 51 matches of the UEFA Euro 2028 in the UK and Ireland, to MagentaTV.
ARD and ZDF will each broadcast 30 matches on free TV in Germany from the World Cup 2026, and 17 matches from Euro 2028.
“With this rights package, we are once again underscoring that MagentaTV is the premiere destination for football major tournaments in the German television landscape,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Telekom. “Only with us can fans experience all the World Cup and Euro matches, many of them exclusively. 44 World Cup matches next year and 17 Euro matches in less than three years will be available only on MagentaTV. We are thrilled to continue our football journey together with an audience of millions. Now we are working on assembling a team that is outstanding in all positions for the challenges ahead.”
For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the package includes all 104 matches – 44 of are exclusive, including knockout matches, including two quarter-finals and three round of 16 matches. For the first time, the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico will feature the round of 32 as the first knockout round. This new round, between the group matches and the round of 16, is also part of the exclusive MagentaTV rights with package six matches.
Euro 2028 will be broadcast in full on MagentaTV: all 51 matches live, 17 of which are exclusive. These include two quarter-finals and three round of 16 matches.
In addition to the men’s tournaments, MagentaTV will broadcast exclusively all 64 matches of the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil..
