Open Book joins Goalhanger podcast network

September 23, 2025

Anthony Scaramucci’s weekly interview series Open Book is joining the Goalhanger network. The show, co-produced by SALT and the Casablanca Strategy Group, invites prominent voices in business, politics entertainment and culture to go deep into a piece of their work – whether a book, article or opinion piece – and explore how ideas from the past are shaping the future.

Past guests have included figures such as Maggie Haberman, Michael Wolff, Adam Kinzinger, Anand Giridharadas, Ian Bremmer, Graydon Carter, Daniel Silva, Brad Meltzer, Ken Follett, Barbara Eden, Niall Ferguson, Kara Swisher, General H.R. McMaster, Robert Greene, Governor Andrew Cuomo, Governor Chris Christie, and Secretary Mark Esper.

The first episode under the Goalhanger banner will be released on September 24th, featuring historian and bestselling author James Holland. A co-host of We Have Ways of Making You Talk – the WW2 history podcast – Holland will discuss his latest books, Victory ’45 and Cassino ’44: The Brutal Battle for Rome. Since April 2024, Scaramucci has also co-hosted The Rest Is Politics: US with journalist Katty Kay.

Scaramucci commented: “I couldn’t be more excited to bring Open Book to Goalhanger, expanding the reach of these conversations to an even wider audience. Goalhanger has built an incredible reputation for producing thoughtful, engaging podcasts, and their team has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Partnering with them ensures that Open Book will continue to grow and thrive, and I’m thrilled to see where we will take it together.”

Tony Pastor, Co-Founder of Goalhanger, added: “When I first met Anthony, I told him his weekly commitment to Goalhanger would be about an hour. A few years on, it’s safe to say we’re getting a lot more than that. He’s become a cornerstone of the company, with millions tuning in every week to hear him and Katty on The Rest Is Politics: US. I’m delighted we can now bring his long-running Open Book podcast into the fold, and we’ll be leaning on his formidable contact book to deliver some truly fascinating conversations.”
