Demon Slayer sets anime UK box office record

Crunchyroll, Aniplex and Sony Pictures’ Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle delivered a £3.4 million (€3.9m) box office in its opening weekend, breaking the record for highest earning for an anime film in the UK & Ireland.
The film opened on September 12th across nearly 500 screens with an average of £7,000 per screen making it the highest earning film in the UK & Ireland, per screen average, for its opening weekend.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, is the first feature film in the three-part cinematic trilogy, opened in cinemas including IMAX and premium large formats in EMEA, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle part 2 is rumoured to be released in 2027, and oart 3 in 2029.
