Particle6 appoints Davidson as Chief Commerical Officer
July 28, 2025

Particle6, the UK indie founded by Eline van der Velden, has announced that industry veteran Tom Davidson has joined the business as its first Chief Commercial Officer, following a period as a consultant.
Davidson has worked in the international television industry for 30 years, holding various senior management roles, including General Manager of Sony Pictures Networks and Managing Director of A+E Networks UK. He brings expertise in launching and scaling businesses, having played pivotal roles in the introduction and expansion of HBO in Central Europe, Sony Pictures Networks in Central Europe and Russia, and the growth of A+E Networks’ channel portfolio across much of the EMEA region.
For the past decade, he has been running Niche Media Global, a London-based consultancy that has included ITV, UKTV and PBS among its client base.
As Particle6’s CCO, he will work closely with Founder and CEO Van der Velden to charge the business’s expansion plans – both domestically and internationally.
Davidson commented: “Through my time as a consultant with Particle6, I have been hugely impressed with Eline and her team and their vision for the future. She has grown the company by being proactive and fully embracing the incredible opportunities that AI creates. As a result, the business has become a go-to company for advice and support in the industry, while also developing numerous AI-led projects of its own or in partnership with others. Particle6 is one of the most exciting businesses I’ve seen, and I am thrilled to be onboard as Eline’s co-pilot, helping to navigate what I expect to be a largely uncharted yet incredible journey.”
Van der Velden added: “As a consultant, Tom’s advice and insight added so much value to our business that as we grew, it was a natural next step to invite him to become our CCO – especially as his drive and enthusiasm for the future clearly match my own. Our world is rapidly changing and diversifying all the time: Tom will be a steady hand on the rudder, ensuring we make the best possible decisions for the business – and importantly, have fun doing it.”
