Vodafone IoT expands Internet in the Car service to Slovakia
June 25, 2025
Vodafone IoT has announced the expansion of its Internet in the Car service to Slovakia, extending the number of countries where motor manufacturers can offer vehicles with reliable in-car internet access to 33. Furthermore, the service allows drivers to seamlessly roam in more than 40 European countries.
Slovakia is the latest addition to Vodafone IoT’s coverage map for Internet in the Car. The service combines Vodafone IoT’s Global Managed Internet of Things (IoT) Connectivity Platform – which has over 200 million connections globally – with local internet service providers. This transforms a vehicle into a fully functional internet access point that can power in-car internet services for all popular apps, personalised infotainment, and flexible Wi-Fi services.
Internet in the car is designed to adhere to national regulations, which are often strictly enforced. Vodafone IoT takes care of all the necessary agreements – saving car manufacturers substantial time and resources.
Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone IoT, commented: “We’re delighted our ‘connected cockpit’ platform has landed in another new European market – strengthening our position as the largest in-car connectivity service provider in the continent. We look forward to continuing the expansion of this service, where we can serve more customers in more countries.”
